Callantsoog is a beautyful touristic village, near the Northsea beach with a lively village center with cosy cafes, restaurants and terraces. On the beach there ar beach-restaurants where you can enjoy a nice meal while the sun is going down in the sea. In the summer season there is a fair every Wednesday as well as various events such as country weekend, fairground etc. In the surroundings of Callantsoog there are various hiking and bicycling tours. From Callantsoog there are several trips possible, for example the famous Cheese market in Alkmaar or Den Helder with its Fort Kijduin ( a historical fortress built on Napoleon's orders )
