The exlusive private b&b Huyze die Maene, in the Middle Ages a stately stay for high-up guests of the city during tournaments on the Market Square. Now a refined Bistro-Brasserie where in a wonderful environment you can taste the wealth of life. This historical house, first used in 1302 under the name 'lostel a le lune' was frequently rented in the 14th and 15th century to the city of Bruges for feasts to accommodate princes and ambassadors. The façade is changed in 1947 to a neo-Gothic stairfront where Jean-Dante De Loof in 1987 started a gastronomic Restaurant on the first floor. In 1997 the restaurant moved to the ground floor to start ‘Huyze die Maene’ and its exclusive guests rooms. The guest rooms are spacious and very elegant. They are accessible by elevator or stairs and offer the highest standards of comfort: remote control television offering most European Channels, safe, granite bathrooms, hairdryer, make-up mirror, bathrobes,etc…In the morning, a continental breakfast is served. Das historische Zentrum von Brügge wurde 2000 zum UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe erklärt. Deshalb findet man Kulturgüter in der ganzen Stadt, insbesondere viel gotische Architektur. Die Sehenswürdigkeiten sind unter anderem: Der Belfort aus dem 13. Jahrhundert mit dem städtischen Glockenspiel mit 47 Glocken. Die Stadt beschäftigt noch immer einen vollzeitangestellten Glockenspieler, der regelmäßig Gratiskonzerte gibt. Weitere berühmte Gebäude sind das Beguinage, die Heilig Bloed Basiliek (die Basilika des Heiligen Blutes), das moderne Konzerthaus und das St. Jan-Spital.
